Biography
David J. Shampine II is a Certified Safety Professional and Senior Safety Engineer currently serving with the System Safety Directorate of the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity. He has been a member of the Navy's Weapons Systems Explosives Safety Review Board (WSESRB) since 1998 and is currently Chairman of the Navy's Software System Safety Technical Review Panel (SSSTRP). Mr. Shampine is involved in the system safety review of all major control systems and ship self defense systems currently under development by the Navy and Marine Corps.

Mr. Shampine is currently serving as President of the Washington D.C. Chapter of the System Safety Society and has been a member for 7+ years. He has earned an Associate in Science, Engineering Science, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Masters in Engineering Administration.
