Kenneth R. Chirkis
Biography

Mr. Kenneth R. Chirkis is the Branch Head and Supervisor of the System Safety Engineering Branch in the Systems Engineering Department at the Naval Air Warfare Center at China Lake, California. He has worked in the System Safety Engineering discipline for both the Government as well as private industry.
Mr. Chirkis has over thirty years of system safety engineering/ major weapon system acquisition experience working on most of the Navy’s conventional weapon/target system programs with specific expertise in the areas of fuzes, energetic materials and insensitive munitions.
Mr. Chirkis is also the Director of Academics/Adjunct Assistant Professor for the China Lake Worldwide Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he instructs Graduate/Undergraduate Aviation Safety Courses.
Mr. Chirkis is currently a Doctoral candidate in Business Administration-Aeronautical Science Concentration through Northcentral University in Prescott, Arizona.
