Mr. Michael H. Demmick
Biography
Mr. Michael H. Demmick has over 32-years of ordnance and weapons system safety experience, serving 21 years in the United States Navy as a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician in a variety of Joint operational and staff billets. In 2003, Mr. Demmick accepted a position at the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA) in the Systems Safety & Joint Programs Directorate.
Mr. Demmick is the Navy’s Weapon System Explosives Safety Review Board (WSESRB) subject matter expert for ground weapon systems and large caliber ammunition, and the primary point of contact for Unmanned Systems and Science and Technology programs identified for Technology Transition into the formal Acquisition Process.
Mr. Michael H. Mr. Demmick has served the System Safety Society in Executive Officer positions for the Washington D.C. Chapter for the past five years as an the Treasurer, President Elect, and currently as the President of the Washington D.C. Chapter.
While serving as the President, he increased WDC Chapter membership by more than 30%, increased profitability by more than 100%, and established a Member Benefit package permitting open membership for the entire System Safety Society in the Naval Surface Warfare Center Federal Credit Union.
For the System Safety Society, Mr. Demmick has served as an Officer on the WDC Chapter Executive Council for the past five years. He served as Treasurer for two consecutive terms, President Elect, and is former President of the WDC Chapter (April 2008 - April 2009). While serving as the President, the WDC Chapter:
§ Increased Chapter membership by more than 30%
§ Increased profitability by more than 100%
§ Established two Systems Engineering College Scholarships with College of Southern Maryland
§ Established a Member Benefit package permitting open membership for the entire System
Safety Society in the Naval Surface Warfare Center Federal Credit Union.
