The practice of System Safety is realizing an invigorated recognition of its pivotal role in the systems engineering process.  Leaders throughout industry and academia are recognizing System Safety’s critical role in designing in safety and designing out potential mishap risk.  During this time of increased visibility, we, as system safety professionals, must explore every opportunity to strengthen our professional ranks and our professional standing throughout industry and academia, worldwide.

As your President, I pledge to do everything I can to further the practice of System Safety, to enhance the professional development of our discipline, and strengthen our position as a professional association.  This will require a three pronged approach:

“Empowered Membership - Revitalized Growth!"

1st, we will identify and capitalize on the multitude of training and educational opportunities that  present potential system safety relationships to ensure the long-term continued development of our practice;

2nd, we will consistently grow our membership base and develop our international affiliates; and,

3rd, we will set the Society on a successful financial path by eliminating deficit spending, and developing new revenue streams.  This will help to establish an upward trending income profile for the Society.
